Vinyl: The Triumphant Return

From digital to vinyl (again): a round trip

There was a time when vinyl records were the kings of sound. From the 1950s to the late 1970s, there was no other way to experience music with such style. Then came cassettes, CDs... and finally, streaming. Everything became fast, portable, and immediate. But what happened? Well, vinyl never really went away. And now, it's stronger than ever.

According to the RIAA, vinyl sold more than CDs in 2020 for the first time since the 1980s. And this isn't just nostalgia. It's a mix of a love for tangible things, a quest for sound quality, and a desire to disconnect from the instantaneous pace of streaming. Because sometimes, putting on a record and sitting back and listening to it... is just what you need.

Vinyl: much more than music

Listening to vinyl isn't just about hitting play. It's a whole ritual. Taking the record out of its sleeve, placing it carefully on the turntable, watching the needle spin… It's all part of an experience that feels real, physical, intimate. And yes, many will say it sounds "better." It may be subjective, but that analog warmth that vinyl conveys has something that digital just can't match.

And if you also like art, vinyl covers are a different story. They're truly enjoyable, as if you had a mini gallery at home.

Modern turntables and furniture that you'll fall in love with

The return of vinyl has also brought new gems to the world of design. Today, turntables come with modern technology (USB, Bluetooth, adjustable speeds) but without losing that retro feel we love.

And of course, with so many records, you have to find a place to store them. That's where solutions like vinyl record shelves , wall shelves , or classic vinyl record boxes come in, combining functionality with style. You can find everything from minimalist furniture to one that looks like it came straight from a '70s record store. They all have one thing in common: they make your collection look amazing.

The vinyl boom in figures

In 2020, vinyl sales increased by 28.7% in the US alone and accounted for 62% of physical music revenue. This is no small feat: vinyl is experiencing a second youth. According to the IFPI, the trend is global. And it's not just a fad. Studies like those from the University of Glasgow and the University of East Anglia confirm that those who buy vinyl don't do so for show: they value the format as art and experience.

And do you know what else has grown with this boom? The demand for specialized furniture. From record shelves to modular stands and display cases, there's a whole universe to organize and display your musical treasures. If you have some of the most valuable or best-selling vinyl records in your collection, you'll surely want them to look their best.

What now? Vinyl isn't going anywhere.

What seemed like a forgotten format has proven it's still around. Music on vinyl isn't just for listening—it's for living. And the more people discover its charm, the more the community grows. The future looks bright for lovers of the groove.

So whether you're just starting your collection or have been at it for years, now is a great time to keep exploring, find new gems, and set up that special corner with a well-built record shelf and your favorite turntable ready to spin.
